Application for Exhibitors
Bath Place in Taunton is a picturesque, pedestrian-only street in the heart of the town, full of independent businesses including gift and card shops, a local producers market, boutiques, cafes and other food outlets, art galleries and much more. Each year since 2008 the Trader’s Association has played host to local artists who have exhibited Montmartre-style with their works displayed on the railings running down the street. Works have included watercolours, acrylics, etchings, ceramics, textiles, and sculptures made from stone and recycled objects.
Bath Place is once again to hold a series of street fayres in spring/summer 2011. This year’s dates are Saturday 18 June, Saturday 16 July and Saturday 20 August and the fayres will run from 9.30 to 5.30. We are now looking for expressions of interest from local artists and makers who would like to take part in this year’s events.
Applications for a pitch are invited by filling in the form provided and returning it as soon as possible to the address below. As places are limited there may have to be a selection process, so if you would like to submit work for consideration please supply 2-4 images which are indicative of your work either a) on a disk b) as hard copies c) by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A modest rental fee of £20 will be charged to contribute to the costs of marketing the events. No commission will be charged on sales of work. Each entrant will need to provide their own tables and display equipment and any weather proofing. Some pitches will back on to railings to which display boards could be tied, and others will be next to a 6ft+ wall against which boards etc could be leant.
The organisers will meet to finalize the list of exhibitors and the spaces that they will occupy. The decision of the organising body about who is offered space and where their work will displayed has to be final. If unsuccessful in being offered a pitch in the first instance, then your details will be added to a reserve list, should space then become available at a later date. If unsuccessful in being offered a pitch, your fee will be refunded.
Alongside the static pitches we would like to hold active demonstrations each Saturday. If you would like to be considered for this please let us have details of what you propose, including how much space would be needed.
We do hope that you will be interested in this opportunity.
